Be surrounded by murals at Jalan Alor
Located in Bukit Bintang area, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. We took a Grab car from our hotel to hunt for murals at the Jalan Alor street art before walking to the food street for dinner.
Murals on walls and buildings are common now, but here I'm like surrounded by them. I went in 2022 and could only find these colourful ones. We saw remnants of a mural on the ground which was supposed to be a stream (the photo with the cloud).
Jalan Alor food street is also known as a night market as it is more bustling at night. It is a long food street with stalls lined up on both sides. Be spoilt for choice!

Best Char Kway Teow in KL
Address: Cu Cha Restaurant, Jalan Alor kl Street Art 1Lane Kuala Lumpur, Bukit Bintang, 50200 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Price: 💰💰
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
After landing at KL, we were starving and needed food asap! We remembered there's a popular eating spot near our hotel, so we decided to explore.
We decided to grab some local delights at the famous Jalan Alor. We settled for this store as it was crowded.
We ordered:-
1. Char Kway Teow - 10/10 the best Kway Teow I've ever eaten in my 26 years of living! The noodle was chewy, flavour was balanced and it has the wok hey taste.
2. Watermelon juice - 10/10 very sweet and refreshing! A must order here.
3. Coconut juice - 4/10 skip the coconut here as it's not sweet nor refreshing.
4. Sambal sotong - 10/10 not quite what we had in mind in terms of bbq sambal sotong, but it was delicious as a dish itself. The sambal tasted like the gravy you would get in asam fish head.
5. Garlic prawn - 4/10 skip this. Prawn was not fresh nor was the sauce good.
6. Asam fish head curry - 7/10 flavour was good but you will not get to see the fish head as they chop it into smaller pieces. Thus you will not be able to determine if they gave you the full fish head you paid for.
7. Chicken satay - 0/10 chicken was dry and not worth the purchase.
Overall this is a decent place to eat at Jalan Alor, stick to their sambal dishes and Char Kway Teow for the best food experience!

Jalan Alor Food Street
This is a really good street to walk down and enjoy the atmosphere then choose a place to sit and enjoy some food or drink. Even if you are not particularly hungry, you will be willing to try some great food on the grill and see the beautiful fruits offered for sale. You should go after 6pm.
Fabulous night spot close to Bukit Bintang. Slightly more expensive than other street food around Kuala Lumper but well worth the visit.

2023, the first outbound trip, heading to Malaysia 🇲🇾.
On February 1st, I started my journey from Changsha and arrived in Kuala Lumpur via Hong Kong. Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia and has many delicious foods and attractions, making it a worthwhile place to visit. Here, I tasted the local specialty of Bak Kut Teh, a soup made from pork, herbs, and spices, with a rich and delicious flavor that I will never forget.
Next, I arrived at Aro Street, which is a vibrant and lively place with many snack shops and stores. It's a great place for shopping and tasting local cuisine. I wandered around here, bought some local specialties, and also tried some local snacks. It felt really good.
The next day, I went to the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur. This is a skyscraper with a height of 452 meters and is one of the iconic buildings in Kuala Lumpur. I took the elevator to the top floor and enjoyed the stunning view of the entire city, feeling very impressed.
Next, I took a plane to Langkawi, which is a beautiful island with blue sky, white clouds, and blue sea, a great place for vacation and leisure. I went to Eagle Square, one of the most famous attractions in Langkawi, where there are many eagles to watch and take photos. Afterwards, I went to the beach, feeling the beauty of the sea breeze and waves. There were many tourists and local residents playing and sunbathing on the beach, very comfortable.
Finally, I am waiting for the arrival of the sunset, with the sun setting in the west and the interweaving of light and shadow on the sea, which makes people feel very wonderful and magical. Here, I feel the tranquility and beauty of nature, and also experience the joy and meaning of travel.
This trip has brought me many wonderful memories and experiences, and has also helped me to better understand different cultures and ways of life. Traveling is an attitude and a way of life that allows us to step out of our homes, explore the world, and experience the colorful and wonderful aspects of life.

Jalan Alor street art
Street art in Malaysia is getting more and more famous and is amazing! The local street art revolution has been evolving which gives us Instagram users more cool backgrounds to post our #ootd (outfit of the day) photos. These graffiti masterpieces are created by talented local artists and foreigners. If you have realised, the street art may give some people the false impression of vandalism when it is merely a gesture to make intricate life-sized paintings – an iconic piece.

If you're around Bukit Bintang area at night, you should dine at Jalan Alor for local food like fried rice, fried noodles, satay, seafood and so many other choices.
Even if you don't feel dine in, there are snacks like fried bananas, cut fruits, fruits juices and fried snacks that you could just take away.
Do note that the prices are on the high side as the place is crowded with foreigners. Also, don't come here if it rains as almost all restaurants seats are in open area. Few restaurants that serve halal meals.

Street food Hawkers
#meetkualalumpur
I stayed at the area of Bukit Bintang, the shopping and entertainment district of Kuala Lumpur (KL). My #tripblazers #fallingforfall location was so strategic because it was near Jalan Alor, a street that is full of hawkers and restaurants.
Jalan Alor, which translates to Alor Street in English, is a food haven for locals and tourists alike. It’s a quiet street in daytime and transforms into a night market, hustling and bustling with activity. You’ll encounter people of different nationalities, local performers, and interesting beggars (you’ll know what I mean when you go there).
it’s a touristy area so prices are higher than usual. But the quality of the food remains superb. For me the durian store is always my favourite 🤩

Jalan Alor Food Street in Bukit Bintang
If you’re a foodie and looking to try variety of food options, Jalan Alor is a place that you must visit. It’s a long stretch of food street located in the heart of Bukit Bintang.
It is a busy street and can easily get crowded especially during weekends and peak hours. I would recommend sticking to the ones that are busy and have lots of people eating so that you know it’s fresh and delicious.

Jalan Alor Food Street - foodies must visit
#meetkualalumpur #dinetilllate
If you are near Bukit Bintang area and am looking for dinner options, do consider walking to the Jalan Alor food area. They have a wide range of food options from Korean, Chinese, Malay to Thai etc so there will definitely be something you like. For those full after dinner and just wan to have a walk, consider the mango sticky rice or coconut ice cream :) Coconut ice cream in its real form really has the Thailand vibes as well. Can try durian too.
Else just take a walk and busk into the vibes here, packed and lots of sellers selling different things including toys, diy metal wire keychains, umbrella etc.

Jalan Alor, The street that comes alive at night.
Great street market. Many food options to try - stick with the ones that are busy and have lots of locals at them! Food was delicious and fresh.
Vendors very accommodating and all spoke English to some degree.
Yes, it's a tourist spot for sure, but it also has great atmosphere and food.
Prices are reasonable - not "bargain basement" but still very reasonable. Order the small size of everything so you can try more things. We went back more than once.
Oddly, cars are still permitted on the street, so watch your back. They tend to move slowly but they will surprise you as they emerge from the crowd. It should be a pedestrian street only during the night market.

Jalan Alor Street Food

Jalan Alor is a famous and unique food street in Kuala Lumpur. It is located in the heart of the city within the Bukit Bintang area near all the popular hotels and restaurants. Some of the best culinary delights that Malaysia has to offer are not at the swanky overpriced restaurants but right at the sidewalks, in the rows and rows of hawker stalls. Stalls take up both sides of the road selling food that best represents Malaysia. It was once known as a red light district that later on became literally a food haven."The entire road forms an unbroken river of delicacies, so take your pick and immerse yourself in a truly authentic street-food scene.

KL street food
If you are in Kuala Lumpur, don't forget to try the street food at Jalan Alor, near Bukit Bintang. Me and my friend went to this Wong Ah Wah restaurant where he wants to reminiscine of his childhood trip.
The chinese food here is nice, especially chicken wing and crispy sotong! So delicious and taste good. Although considered quite pricey, I'd never forget the taste.
If you are prone to allergic, I suggest you not to eat the seafood here. My eczema came after having the meal, but is okay because I have time to go pharmacy and buy the medicine.

Jalan Alor Night Market
Jalan Alor, located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, near to popular Bukit Bintang street, is a very convenient destination for tourists if you stay in city center. The street is closed at night for pedestrians, with all the food stall and restaurants along the street.
Few must try foods that I would recommend are:
- BBQ chicken wing, cooked over a smoky charcoal grilled, is one of the best I’ve ever tried, the meat was tender and slid of the bone easily.
-Satay, the locals love it, can order a good mix of lamb, beef and chicken, min 10 sticks.
-BBQ sting ray, KL style is slightly different from others, their sting ray is served dry without any gravy, it’s incredibly good.
- Char Kuey Tiao, oyster omelette, chili crab, cendol, desserts are some other must try foods…

Quiet street of JALAN ALOR
Definitely historic this Jalan Alor. However they're no longer the same as previous year. Not many hawkers as most of them closing their business. But 1 thing unique is, you can find DURIAN Seller here. No matter what season they always be here.

Jalan Alor, Kuala Lumpur's Jalan Alor, has more than 50 years of history and more than 100 kinds of food. It is famous in the world and has been highly recommended by domestic foodie Cai Wei. There are a wide variety of snacks to satisfy your expectations for food. Here, we met a Western brother with a choice of disorders, he looked at the many types, chose a long time, hahaha, still very cute. We also met a very interesting American uncle, watching me take pictures with my mobile phone, and he took other mobile phones to shoot me, TT. In addition to the food, the night view of Arrow Street is also very fascinating under the efforts of the Kuala Lumpur City Council. Food, beauty and interesting people are the biggest highlights of Jalan Alor in Kuala Lumpur. z

Speaking of the famous night market in Southeast Asia, there are Khao San Road in Bangkok, Fan Wu Lao Street in Ho Chi Minh, and Arro Street in Kuala Lumpur.
The night of Arro Street can be described as a crowd of people, and it is more and more lively at night. The barbecue stalls here are arranged in rows, and all kinds of dishes can be eaten here. People of different countries, races and skin colors shuttle through it. They are all for the sake of that food.
Roasted chicken wings and grilled devil fish are the must-try foods at Arrow Street. Look for food in Arro Street in the night, so you don't have to travel to Kuala Lumpur.

Jalan Alor has more than 50 years of history. There are more than 100 kinds of foods on the street. It is the most famous food street in Kuala Lumpur. The foodie Cai Yi has highly recommended it. The food types include chicken wings, Portuguese fish, fried bare strips, Luoja, Satay, Youyu leeks, Pork porridge, Yasansha, medicinal stew, seafood, snacks, Bak Kut Teh. Specially promoted Huang Yahua snack shop, the food stalls have the best roast chicken wings in Southeast Asia, and luck can also meet the stars to eat. Meigan cane juice, sand kebabs, signature chicken wings, typhoon shrimp are special push ~

In the past two to the Malaysian experience, Malaysia is a super friendly place! Followed the style of Guangdong, Fujian coast of light, and spicy blend of Southeast Asian style. It can be said to have exotic taste sense; these days there is no fundamental stepped down to eat mine. The most recommended dishes Kuala Lumpur resort is the first day went to experience Arrow Street (Jalan Alor). Arrow Street has a history of fifty years. The street has more than 100 kinds of food. It is the most famous food street in Kuala Lumpur. There are types of food burning chicken wings, Portugal broiled fish, fried strips naked, Rojak, satay, unusually thick fish dishes, pork porridge, Assam laksa, herbs stew, seafood, snacks, trotters and so on. There are a lot of shops are it is old, and a lot of stars will come here to enjoy an evening will be overcrowded. It is worth mentioning that, 40 years ago, Jalan Alor is, in fact, a red-light district. Several hawkers, hawking business where the majority of regular customers patronize, is a love affair from the customer premises. Later Arrow Street reborn to face possible food paradise, many people a taste of their food, and a visit there, think also very magical experience it. Take a look, seafood, grilled chicken wings, weird local food readily available, to prepare a few more stomachs for the job.

Not sure what to eat in Kuala Lumpur? Come to Jalan Alor, particularly if you are near pavilion or TRX!
Jalan Alor is a 500-metre long food street in Kuala Lumpur. Located in the heart of the city in Bukit Bintang Area, it is one of the busiest food streets of the world. The old-world charm of the jam-packed street stands in sharp contrast to the rest of the modernized Kuala Lumpur.
This former red-light area is now one of Kuala Lumpur’s top culinary destinations. The sidewalks are lined with seafood eateries, hawker stalls, and coffee shops serving some of Malaysia’s best hawker fare. You’ll find delicious street food like satay, BBQ chicken wings, stir-fried noodles, and also desserts. We had the famous grill fish and chicken wings, as well as Thai tea ice dessert.
This buzzing street draws budget travelers for its affordable prices and shutterbugs for its nostalgic vibes.

Nothing better than a short weekend getaway to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. So easy to reach from Singapore!
And since we landed at midday, time to have a biiiig dinner at Jalan Alor Food Street and we were super spoilt for choice at all the street food 🤤
At Jalan Alor Food Street in Kuala Lumpur, you can indulge in a culinary adventure exploring a wide variety of Malaysian street food. The vibrant atmosphere is perfect for tasting local delicacies such as satay, char kway teow, and Hokkien mee. We tried - satay, fruit juices, fried squid, and many others to bring back to the hotel room and munch on! Although crowded, it is rather safe and family friendly still.
